Michael A. Goldsmith joined Reynolds, Rappaport & Kaplan, LLC as an associate in 2000, and became a director in 2005. Mr. Goldsmith has extensive experience in the areas of municipal law, civil litigation, zoning, and land use. He has tried approximately thirty cases, has appeared before the First Circuit Court of Appeals and the Massachusetts Appeals Court, and has assisted colleagues in the trial and appeal of numerous other matters. Prior to joining Reynolds, Rappaport & Kaplan, Mr. Goldsmith served as Assistant Corporation Counsel in the City of Boston Law Department, where he focused on the representation of municipal employees in the federal and state courts, and was in private practice as a criminal and civil litigator. Mr. Goldsmith served as law clerk to the Honorable Mel L. Greenberg of the Massachusetts Appeals Court in 1991-1992, and to the Honorable Patti B. Saris of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts in 1994.
Community Involvement:
Mr. Goldsmith currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Visiting Nurse Association.
Personal:
Prior to joining Reynolds, Rappaport & Kaplan, Mr. Goldsmith was a long-time summer resident of Martha’s Vineyard. His wife, Susan, owns a local marketing and web development agency. They have one child.
